Breast Imaging

The Breast Imaging Center at InHealth Imaging was the first facility in the Western United States to offer the latest advancement in the detection of breast cancer using 3D Mammography/Tomosynthesis.

The InHealth Breast Imaging Team focuses on the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer using state-of-the-art technologies including 3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis), Ultrasound, MRI, and Upright Stereotactic Breast Biopsy.

3D Digital Screening Mammography is highly sensitive and cost efficient. A screening mammogram does not require a physician referral and is paid by insurance under most circumstances. We are the only providers in Kitsap County to offer screening 3D Mammograms to all of our patients at no additional cost above the standard fee. Medicare covers 100% of screening mammogram costs, including deductibles.

InHealth Imaging is accredited by the American College of Radiology in Mammography and Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed

The American Cancer Society recently announced new mammogram guidelines which recommend that women begin mammograms at the age of 45 if they have no family history of breast cancer.  However, the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging still recommend that women begin mammograms at age 40.  Our dedicated Breast Imaging Technologists make it a top priority to ensure that the necessary breast compression is not painful.
